Privacy policy

The short version: our apps need no account, your progress stays on your phone (in Grouplet it can also be backed up to your own Google Play Games account), Grouplet sends usage statistics and crash reports to Google Firebase so we can improve it, and we never sell your data.

Effective date: 2 November 2026

1. Who we are

This policy is published by THEBE AI PRIVATE LIMITED, a company incorporated in India (“THEBE AI”, “we”, “us”), the developer named on our Google Play and App Store listings. It covers this website and our apps: Grouplet, Tilelet, Ladderlet and ExactFPS (together, the “apps”). You can reach us about privacy at our support email address, shown under Contact and grievances.

2. Summary

  • Our apps do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name, email or phone number to use them.
  • Your progress, settings and statistics are stored on your device. We do not run servers that receive them.
  • Grouplet can use Google Play Games: if you are signed in, a copy of your game progress and your achievements are saved in your own Google account by Google, so they come back on a new phone. This is optional, and you can sign out or delete that data at any time (see Google Play Games in Grouplet).
  • Grouplet uses Google Firebase (Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Remote Config) to count how the game is played, to receive crash reports and to adjust settings such as how often ads appear without an app update. This data is linked to random app and installation IDs, not to your name or email (see Usage statistics, crash reports and remote settings in Grouplet).
  • Some apps, including Grouplet, show ads through Google AdMob. Google may collect device information such as your advertising ID to show and measure ads, as explained below.
  • Purchases are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see your card or bank details.
  • We do not sell personal data.

Grouplet

Grouplet (Android app com.thebeai.grouplet) is an emoji puzzle game that works offline. It has no account or sign-up of its own and does not ask for your name, email, contacts, photos, location or microphone. It can optionally use Google Play Games, and it uses Google Firebase for usage statistics, crash reports and remote settings (both described below). Here is everything it handles:

DataWho handles itWhy, and for how long
Town progress, stars, medals, collected cards, free-hint count, ad-frequency counters and settings (sound, music, haptics, reduce motion, theme)Stored on your device, in the app’s private storage. Never sent to us. If you are signed in to Google Play Games, part of it is also backed up to your Google account (next rows). To save your game and apply the ad limits. Kept on the device until you uninstall the app or clear its data.
Your Google Play Games profile: gamer name and player ID (only if you are signed in)Google Play Games. The app reads them from Google; we do not receive or store them.To show “Welcome back, <your gamer name>!” and to connect your saved game and achievements to you. The name is only kept in memory while the app runs.
Saved game “grouplet_progress”: stars and medals per level, unlocked and current level, revealed cards and trophies, play statistics (games played, wins, streaks), a few settings (theme, sound, music, haptics, reduce motion, difficulty), the number of levels cleared and the time of the last save. Never purchases, hint or ad counters.Saved by Google Play Games Services in your Google account (Saved Games). Not sent to us.To restore your progress on a new phone or after reinstalling. When you sign in, the copy in your account and the progress on your device are merged so nothing is lost. Kept until you delete it (see below).
Achievements: one for each of the 32 postcards you earnGoogle Play Games Services, in your Play Games profileTo unlock achievements and show them in Google Play Games, visible to others according to your Play Games profile visibility setting. Kept until you delete them (see below).
Advertising ID, IP address (from which an approximate location may be inferred), device and app information, ad interactions and diagnostics, from level 7 onCollected by the Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob) and shared with GoogleTo show, cap and measure ads, for analytics about ad performance, and to prevent fraud. See Advertising.
Usage statistics: a random app-instance ID, game events (for example starting and finishing a level, using a hint, being shown or watching an ad, opening or completing the “Remove ads” purchase), app opens, sessions and screens, the value of ads shown, device model, operating system and version, language, app version, an approximate location (country, region or city) that Google derives from your IP address, and your device’s advertising IDGoogle Analytics for Firebase, processed by Google on our behalfTo understand how the game is played, balance levels, hints and ads, and measure ad and purchase revenue. Kept for up to 2 months in event-level form (see below).
Crash reports: the stack trace and app state at the moment of a crash or serious error, device model, operating system version, app version, free memory and disk space, whether the device is rooted, and random Crashlytics and Firebase installation IDs. Firebase also records when each session starts (with device model, operating system, app version and network type) to count crash-free sessions.Firebase Crashlytics, processed by Google on our behalfSo we can find and fix crashes and see how stable each version is. Crash reports are kept for 90 days.
Remote settings request: a random Firebase installation ID, country, language, time zone, operating system version and the app’s package name and Firebase app IDFirebase Remote Config and Firebase installations, processed by Google on our behalfTo fetch the current game settings (for example how often ads appear and how many free hints you get) so we can tune them without an app update.
Your ad consent choice (EEA, UK and Switzerland)Google’s User Messaging Platform, stored on your deviceTo remember your choice so you are not asked again, and to apply it to ads and to Google Analytics. You can change it at any time in Settings → Privacy choices.
Purchase of “Remove ads”, with a random purchase ID created for this installationGoogle Play (or the Apple App Store); a confirmation is stored on your deviceTo remove ads, restore your purchase later and help Google Play detect fraudulent purchases. See Purchases.
Card image you choose to shareSaved to the app’s temporary cache, then passed to the app you pick in your phone’s share sheetOnly when you tap Share. We do not receive it.
  • Ads. The first district, Home Street (levels 1 to 6), shows no ads, and no ads are requested there. From level 7 on, Grouplet may show an occasional full-screen ad back in town after a win (never during a puzzle) and rewarded ads that you choose to watch for an extra hint or to refill lives. Buying “Remove ads” turns all ads off.
  • Rating prompt. Grouplet may ask Google Play or the App Store to show its standard rating prompt. Any rating or review you leave is handled by Google or Apple under their own policies.
  • Other games. Grouplet may show a short list of our other games. This is built into the app and shares nothing.

Google Play Games in Grouplet

  • Optional, automatic sign-in. On Android, Grouplet uses Google Play Games Services. If you have a Google Play Games profile and automatic sign-in to games is on, Grouplet signs you in silently when it starts, using your existing Play Games profile. Grouplet has no account of its own and never asks for your password or email. You can also sign in from Settings → Google Play Games, or not use Play Games at all: the whole game works without it.
  • What is stored in your Google account. While you are signed in, Google keeps your gamer name and player ID (your Play Games profile), the Grouplet achievements you unlock, and one saved game named “grouplet_progress” with the progress listed in the table above. The app saves it automatically (and when you tap Settings → Save progress now), and on sign-in it merges the saved copy with the progress on your phone so nothing is lost. Purchases, hint counters and ad counters are never part of it.
  • Who handles it. Google stores and processes this data under the Google Privacy Policy. It travels over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. THEBE AI has no server that receives it, and we cannot see your saved game. Your gamer name and achievements may be visible to other players according to your Play Games profile visibility setting. The Play Games software in the app also sends Google analytics and diagnostic data about how it works, which Google uses to keep it stable and improve it.
  • Your progress also stays on your device. Signing in does not move your progress off your phone: the app keeps playing from its local copy, so signing out or deleting the Play Games data does not reset the game on that phone.
  • How to sign out or delete it. To stop being signed in automatically, turn off automatic sign-in to supported games in your Play Games profile settings. To delete Grouplet’s saved game and achievements, open your Play Games profile → Your data → Delete Play Games account & data → Delete individual game data → Grouplet (on a phone: Play Store → your profile icon → Settings → General → Play Games profile). You can also delete your whole Play Games profile there, or manage your data in your Google Account.
  • iPhone. The iPhone version does not use Google Play Games or Game Center yet.

Usage statistics, crash reports and remote settings in Grouplet

  • What we use. On Android, Grouplet uses three Google Firebase services: Google Analytics for Firebase (usage statistics), Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports) and Firebase Remote Config (game settings we can change without an app update, such as how often ads appear and how many free hints you get). They rely on Firebase installations, which creates a random ID for each installation of the app. The data each one collects is listed in the table above.
  • No name or email. We do not send Firebase your name, email, phone number, Google account or Play Games player ID. The data is linked only to random IDs created for this installation of the app (and, for Google Analytics, your advertising ID). Because AdMob is linked to our Firebase project, Google Analytics also records the ads shown to you and their estimated value.
  • Why. To see which levels are too hard or too easy, how hints and ads are used, how many players stay, and how much the game earns; to find and fix crashes; and to tune the game’s settings for everyone. We look at this data in the Firebase console and do not use it to identify you.
  • Who handles it. Google provides Firebase and processes this data on our behalf as our data processor (service provider), under the Firebase Data Processing and Security Terms and, for Google Analytics, the Google Ads Data Processing Terms. Google may also use some of it, such as aggregated device and SDK version data, to maintain and improve its services, as explained in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. Data travels over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections. More details: Privacy and security in Firebase.
  • Your choices in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. The choice you make in Google’s consent message (and later in Settings → Privacy choices) also applies to Google Analytics, through Google’s consent mode. If you do not consent, Google Analytics does not store the app-instance ID or advertising ID for your activity and only sends limited signals without these IDs, which Google may use for modelled, aggregated reports; and your data is not used for personalised advertising. Crash reports and remote settings requests are not part of this choice, because we need them to keep the game stable and working. They contain no advertising ID.
  • How long it is kept. Google Analytics deletes event-level and user-level data linked to the app-instance ID or advertising ID after 2 months; reports that only show totals are kept longer. Crashlytics keeps crash reports and their IDs for 90 days. Firebase keeps installation IDs until we ask for them to be deleted, then removes them within 180 days.
  • Resetting it. Uninstalling Grouplet or clearing its storage removes the app-instance and installation IDs from your phone; the app then starts with new, unrelated IDs. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID (see Advertising).

Tilelet

Stores your progress, collection and settings on your device, may show ads, and offers a one-time purchase for the full game.

Ladderlet

Stores your progress, word journal and settings on your device, may show ads, and offers a one-time purchase for the full game.

ExactFPS

ExactFPS measures your phone’s performance while you play. These measurements are processed and stored on your device. To work, it may ask for the following Android permissions, each only when you turn on the feature that needs it:

  • Usage access: to detect which game is open so it can measure that game. It does not read the content of any app.
  • Display over other apps: to show the live frame-rate monitor on top of your game.
  • Do Not Disturb access: to silence notifications during play when you turn on focus mode.
  • Notifications and a foreground service: to keep measuring while you play and show that it is active.
  • Location and Wi-Fi state: Android requires location permission for apps to read Wi-Fi connection details used in network checks. ExactFPS does not track your location and does not send it anywhere.
  • Shizuku (optional): if you choose to use the Shizuku app, ExactFPS can read more precise frame data that Android otherwise restricts.

ExactFPS never reads or changes other apps’ files, never injects code into games and never automates taps. It may show ads, as described below.

4. Advertising

Our apps use Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK), provided by Google LLC and, in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, Google Ireland Limited. When an ad is requested, the SDK may collect and share with Google your device’s advertising ID (or, on iPhone, the advertising identifier if you allow tracking), your IP address (from which an approximate location may be inferred), device and app information, how you interact with ads, and diagnostic data such as crash and performance information. Google and its advertising partners may use these identifiers, and cookies or similar local storage, to deliver, personalise (where you allow it), cap and measure ads, for ad analytics and to prevent fraud and abuse. Google acts as an independent controller of this data. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and in Google’s Privacy Policy.

We do not send Google your name, email or any other information that identifies you, and we do not receive the data Google collects, other than aggregated ad reports.

Your consent and choices.

  • EEA, UK and Switzerland: before any ads are shown, the app shows Google’s consent message (Google’s User Messaging Platform), where you can accept or decline personalised ads and the related use of your data. Your choice is stored on your device. You can change or withdraw it at any time in the app’s Settings → Privacy choices. If you decline, you may still see non-personalised or limited ads.
  • iPhone: the app asks for permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you do not allow tracking, the advertising identifier is not shared. You can change this in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads (or Settings → Google → Ads). Google’s My Ad Center lets you control personalised ads from Google.
  • Buying the one-time purchase that removes ads stops ads in that game, so no further ad requests are made.

5. Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their own terms and privacy policies. We receive confirmation that a purchase was made so we can unlock it. We never receive your payment card, bank or billing address details. In Grouplet, “Remove ads” is a one-time purchase tied to your Google Play account (or Apple ID). The app checks it with the store when it starts, and Settings → Restore purchases brings it back on a new phone or after reinstalling, free of charge.

On Android, when you buy “Remove ads”, Grouplet sends Google Play a random, scrambled ID created for this installation of the app (not your name, email or Google account) together with the purchase, so Google Play can help detect fraudulent purchases. The app also checks Google Play’s digital signature on the purchase on your device before removing ads. Google Analytics for Firebase records that a purchase was made (product, price and currency) as part of the usage statistics described in Grouplet.

6. This website

thebeai.com sets no cookies and has no forms. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without identifying you.

7. Children

Our apps are not directed at children. Grouplet’s target audience on Google Play is adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your choices and rights

Because your app data is stored on your device, you control it: uninstalling an app or clearing its data (Android: Settings → Apps → the app → Storage → Clear storage) deletes it. Our apps have no accounts of their own, so there is no app account to delete. If you used Google Play Games in Grouplet, delete its saved game and achievements in your Play Games profile or your Google Account (see Google Play Games in Grouplet). Grouplet’s usage statistics and crash reports are linked only to random IDs, so we usually cannot tell which records are yours; they are deleted automatically (see Usage statistics, crash reports and remote settings in Grouplet), and uninstalling the app or clearing its storage starts new IDs. For data held by Google for advertising, use the ad controls in Advertising or Google’s own tools. Depending on where you live, including under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the EU and UK GDPR, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a data protection authority. To use any of these rights, email us. We will respond as required by law.

Grouplet data deletion: step-by-step instructions, and how to ask us to delete your data, are on Delete your Grouplet data.

9. Retention, security and transfers

  • On your device: app data stays in the app’s private storage until you clear it or uninstall the app. Shared card images are temporary files that the system can clear at any time.
  • Advertising data: kept by Google under its own retention policy (see How Google retains data). Resetting or deleting your advertising ID breaks the link to past ad activity.
  • Google Play Games (Grouplet): your Play Games profile, Grouplet achievements and saved game are kept by Google in your Google account until you delete them in your Play Games profile or delete the profile.
  • Usage statistics, crash reports and remote settings (Grouplet): Google Analytics deletes event-level and user-level data after 2 months (aggregated totals are kept longer); Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days; Firebase installation IDs are kept until we ask for them to be deleted, then removed within 180 days (see Privacy and security in Firebase).
  • Purchases: kept by Google Play or Apple as part of your store account history, including the random purchase ID Grouplet sends with a Google Play purchase.
  • Emails you send us: kept only for as long as needed to handle your request and meet legal obligations, then deleted. Ask us at any time to delete your messages sooner.

We do not run servers that receive app data. Data sent by the ads SDK, Google Firebase, Google Play Games and the app stores travels over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections, we protect our own accounts and systems (including our Firebase and Google Analytics consoles) with industry-standard security, and only authorised THEBE AI staff can read support emails or see Firebase reports. Our service providers (Google, Apple and Cloudflare) may process data in countries other than your own, under their own safeguards.

10. Contact and grievances

For privacy questions, requests or complaints, email us at the address below. Please write “Privacy” or “Grievance” in the subject line. Your message reaches our Grievance Officer. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it within one month of receiving it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our apps change. We will post the new version here with a new effective date, and tell you in the app if a change is significant.
